Why Device Manager Error Code 49 Appears?

Driver Error Code 49 appears when Registry Hive exceeds its size limits. Registry File contains System Hive that keeps all the configuration and settings saved by windows operating system. Windows Operating System saves thousands of options, settings, configuration, registration etc in this hive and when this hive exceeds its size limit, Windows OS gets unable to store new value and thus show you error code 49.

There are several ways to fix this error from Windows OS. Here, I am listing some useful methods to fix this trouble.

Method 1: Fix using Advanced System Repair Tool

Method 3: Uninstall unused device from device manager

This is the best practice to remove unused and old devices from device manager. By default these devices are hidden so you need to show these hide devices first.

Step 1: Open Command Prompt and type the following command and press Enter. It will show hidden device in device manager.

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

Step 2: Now open Device Manager. Press Windows Key + X + M to open Device Manager.
Step 3: Go to View > Show Hidden Devices.
Step 4: Now, select old or unused device and choose to uninstall.
