In Windows system an error 2744 occurs when user tries to install front page but the installation setup is missing or Microsoft System Files update is damaged. Windows operating system has many files to support and needs to update time to time to work properly and make your system compatible with latest hardware and software. Sometimes, Runtime Engine Installer returns error 2744 and installation is stopped. If the system path is missing System32\WBEM during Installation of Lcsetup.exe then you may also receive the error 2744.
Symptoms of this error:
An internal error occurs during installation of front page-
Error 2744. An internal error has occurred.
Since the error message indicates that an internal error has occurred so you can think that the internal file or system file is missing so the front page can’t install successfully.
Cause of this error:
Damaged or missing files update of Microsoft System is the cause of error 2744. There are so many files in the system so if anyone of them is missing or gets corrupt then the system can’t work and installation failed. It may that the system in which you are trying to install front page is infected with malicious programs and they have damaged or deleted system files and due to this reason the system is unsupported with internal error.
Manual steps to fix error 2744:
Since the internal files are missing or Microsoft system files update is damaged so you have to follow the below given steps-
- Clear the temporary folder
- Install OLE Automation Update
- Install Front Page and Reinstall the System Files Update
Go to disk clean up option and select the drive (C, D, E etc.) and click on Temporary files check box then delete all. You can also do that go to Run and type temp and press ok then delete all files.
a) Insert the CD ROM of Microsoft Office XP and hold down the Shift key
b) Start Windows Explorer and locate the drive that contains the Office XP CD
c) Open Oainst.exe file which will install OLE automation update.
a) Go to Run and type drive\Setup.exe /spforce
b) Under Maintenance Mode Wizard click Repair System Files Update, Restore your System Files and click on Next.
c) Click on Reinstall System Files update
On the Maintenance Mode Options page of the System Files Update Maintenance Mode Wizard, click Repair System Files Update – Restore your System Files Update installation to its original state, and then click next. Click the option that is appropriate for your situation and follow the instructions to install FrontPage.
You can also use third party tool named Advanced System Repair Tool because if the problem is not solved manually or the system files get corrupt then it can repair in simple and easy steps.
