SQL server is the database language which is used to store values or data in a separate form as they can be inserted, updated, deleted and retrieved according to the requirements of the user. It is used as a back-end or the program or application so user indirectly connects to SQL Server. When you try to communicate with the network to use the SQL server or connects to an instance of Microsoft SQL Server that is installed in Windows System then you may receive the error message as-

Error message 1
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB] General Network error. Check your network documentation
Error message 2
ERROR [08S01] [Microsoft][SQL Native Client]Communication link failure
Error message 3
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A transport-level error has occurred when sending the request to the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 – An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)

Cause of this error:-

Missing network is the cause of Error message “A transport-level error” when an application connects to SQL Server. The error messages indicate the issues of this error so if you focus on the messages then you can know the cause of this error easily. The cause of this error is missing network or failure network. As we know that network is required to communicate with SQL Server so if it is missing or failed then we can’t connect communicate. If the network hardware is incompatible with SNP (Scalable Network Pack) features then you can receive the error message when an application connects to SQL Server. The condition of this error message are given for your better guide so that you can understand the details of this issue-
i) The system hosts the instance of SQL Server
ii) Application connects to the instance of SQL Server with the help of TCP/IP network protocol
If the network load is too high then you may also receive the given error messages. Sometimes missing system files or malicious programs also restricts to connect to the instance of SQL Server and occur the error message.

How to fix this problem:-

Since we get the error message “Communication link failure” when connect SQL Server so we can fix it easily if we remove the issues of the network so go to the code where you have connoted the SQL server to the network and verify that, is it missing or not?, if it is missing then solve it or also verify that network is failure or not. Verify the configuration of the network. Since the third error message indicates that the connection has forcedly closed by remote hosts so you have to start the connection then try to connect the instance of SQL Server. You can also do that repair the system and its driver because if they are missing or corrupt then you can’t connect to SQL Server.
