Windows update error code 80246005:-
Windows update error code 80246005 appear on the screen when user starts windows update to download latest technology and features of windows, such as protection power against virus and other harmful programs, supporting power of different type of softwares etc but if windows gets this error the update stops and an error message is seen on the screen that “some files can’t be updated an exception has occurs found error 80246005”. This error means that Service name cryptographic isn’t working in a proper way or you can’t save the files in the Catroot2 folder. This error also occurs due to some common reason such as windows file corrupt, registry file missing etc. It is compulsory to fix this error for the safety of windows.
Cause of this error:-
Windows update error code 80246005 mainly caused by cryptographic service which is more responsible for windows update. If windows configuration is not in a complete way I mean if something is wrong in windows file or windows registry file is corrupted or damaged then we can get meet with this error during windows update. A part from these windows updates error code 800246005 may also caused by malicious programs, deleted files of windows by mistake or changing in windows setting.
Harms of this error:–
Windows update error code 80246005 is very harmful for windows user. It may also cause other windows error and user can get problem to run programs. System performance will be slow, windows may be crash and all stored data may be lost.
Solution of this error:-
If you get windows update error code 80246005 during windows update then it is compulsory for you to remove or fix this otherwise it can damage windows. If this error appears at first time then system restart, check the network connection and again start windows update. If you again get this error then follow the given steps:-
i) Open Command Prompt
ii) Write the code attrib –h-s-r c:\windows\system32\catroot2 and press enter button
iii) Write Exit and press enter button
iv) Now open Service.msc
v) Double click on Windows Update.
vi) Check that the service is automatic or nor , if it is not then set it automatic
vii) Now click on apply
viii) Go to cryptographic Service and double click on it
ix) Set it automatic and click on apply
x) Stop the service and start
xi) Finally close the service box
