Step 3: Exit command prompt and run windows update again.

Method 4: Run System File Checker Tool

This is a command line tool that can be run by an administrative command prompt. Open command prompt as administrator and then type/paste the following command.

sfc/ scannow

sfc_scannow

This tool is to be used for fixing error in system files.
