About Event Logs:-
Before discussing on Event logs it is compulsory to know about event. Event is an occurrence in the system. As we know that when we performs tasks in the system then many events performed which notify the system users about the actions or any entry if it is included to the log. Event log also play an important role for the system because it records the security, application and system events to the event viewers from where you can get the information of your system hardware devices, software, components of the system, remote system etc. If you are facing the system problem then in such type of cases event logs helps to identify and know the details of the source of the problem. There are many types of event logs such as-Windows logs, application logs, security log, setup log, system log etc but in windows XP events logs are three types which are as-
i) Application Log
ii) Security Log
iii) System Log
Event viewers are the most important part of the system which store the information of the event logs which helps the user to know the details of the events of the system. It helps to manage and browse events logs and also helps to manage and troubleshoot the system problems when they arise. You can view multiple events of event logs from event viewers. As its name suggest event viewer so you can easily understand about this component that it helps to view events. It save useful event filters so that they can be reused. It also manages a task to run according to the response of the event.
How to view and manage event logs in event viewers in windows XP:-
Windows XP is the earlier version of windows 7 which has three types of event logs, such as application log, system log and security log. All are stored in event viewers so you can view and manage event logs in event viewers in windows XP and also know about the events of the system and if system is getting with any issue or problem then you can also know its details from events viewers. To view and manage event logs in event viewers in windows XP you have to follow the given steps-
i) First of all Start the system which has windows XP installed and click on the Start icon
ii) Click on the Control Panel which is given in the right side of the menu list of the installed programs
iii) Search for the option “Performance and Maintenance” and open it
iv) Click on Administrative Tools and open Computer Management
v) Now click on Event viewer which is given in the console tree
Here you can see the details of all event logs of the windows XP because it al logs application log, system log and security log appears.
